The Situation:
Our client, a high-end retail chain, wanted to expand into Florida. The project
costs for developing this new site were budgeted at $10 million, but grew to
almost $17 million when problems developed.
Approach:
The chosen site had major environmental problems. TCM worked with the state
government to get a tax credit for half of the cost of the environmental
clean-up.
Results:
The client received $3 million in tax savings in return for assistance in
cleaning up an underutilized piece of property in the local governmental
district.
